Fusion Edge Tips and Tricks

The Fusion Edge Sno Pusher is a sectional snow pusher that gives you the best of both worlds: incredible surface outcome (steel edge) and ease of use (rubber edge). For over three years, Pro-Tech tested this snow plow in the harshest of upstate NY winters. Our ultimate goal was to give you the perfect combination of performance and durability all at a reasonable price. The Fusion Edge Sno Pusher features a steel-infused rubber cutting edge that both squeegees and scrapes snow, an industry-first fully floating coupler, and an improved wear shoe design. Pair this sectional snow pusher with your loader, compact wheel loader, backhoe, skid steer, or compact tractor and start clearing snow like never before. Sizes ranging from 10’ to 16’ are available.

FAQs

How does a Sno Pusher connect?

Loaders & Backhoes: The standard connection is a post receptacle connection. Just drive into the Sno Pusher receiver, connect your safety chains and a binder, and start pushing snow!
Skid Steers: The standard connection for skid steers is a universal coupler mount.

What is the optimal edge and shoe setting for my Fusion Edge Sno Pusher?

The optimal setting depends on the wear of the edge, the property type, and the snow fall.  It is recommended that for gravel properties the edge is adjusted flush with the bottom of the Fast Attack wear shoes.  For aggressive plowing, the edge can be lowered past the bottom of the wear shoe but should not exceed ½”.

When is it time to change my cutting edge?

The right time to change or flip your Fusion Edge is when the infused steel in the edge is completely worn away.  Customers will notice a decrease in the edge’s performance.  This is an indication that it’s time to either flip the edge and wear the other side or if both edges are worn, replace the section.

How many wear edges are on the Fusion Edge?

The Fusion Edge has two edges (top and bottom) that can be worn.  This gives customers a total of two wear edges.  The Fusion Edge is different than Pro-Tech’s rubber edge models, which are designed to be flipped and reversed, giving customers a total of four wear edges.

When is it time to change the wear shoes?

Wear shoes should be changed when the bottom is worn to a ¼” thickness or if the toes or heels of the shoe are damaged.  Continuing to run a snow pusher with wear shoes that are overly worn can potentially damage the snow pusher or result in operator injury.

Can my rubber edge snow pushers be fitted with fusion edges?

The Fusion Edge design is specific to that model and cannot be added to existing rubber edge snow pushers.

Can I add a pullback kit to my Fusion Edge Sno Pusher?

Due to the floating coupler, a pullback/backdrag kit cannot be added at this time.

What are the marks on the back of the Pro Float Coupler?

Customers with loader models will notice markings on the top cross bar of the Pro Float coupler.  These markings are position indicators for the bolt-on connection.  Reference your owner’s guide for more details.

What are the ridges on the edge?

The horizontal ridges on the Fusion Edge aid the rubber in flexing and achieving the best surface outcome.  The ridges can also be used as wear guide.
